In an effort to fight against this data, UNFPA and Intel announced a joint effort to strengthen the capacity of midwives and community health through technology and training materials from these two institutions. The new initiative will increase the capacity of health workers around the world through software and technical support from Intel, and the wider availability of quality education through training and materials provided UNFPA. Intel will build on its commitment to the United Nations every woman and every child incentives to train one million pre-line health workers in 2015 under the Intel 1Mx15 Health Initiative. According to the United Nations, every year about 360,000 women die during pregnancy and up to 2 million children die within the first 24 hours of life, mainly because they lack access to skilled health workers.


As part of the initiative, Intel certainly have a Health Education Forum will provide an open access multi-media content delivery anytime, anywhere capabilities. Content delivery and assessment platform will further educate and train midwives and other forward-line health workers. In addition, Intel will work with various governments to improve the accessibility, affordability and use of technology to a healthy life.

UNFPA, the United Nations that is dedicated to improving maternal health, to develop materials and training of health workers, together with relevant partners and professional organizations in the country and internationally. UNFPA will also engage local stakeholders to ensure sustainability and multiplier effect of the program.
